{"id":4891,"date":"2023-08-11T11:28:21","date_gmt":"2023-08-11T09:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bmwvoorelkaar.nl\/?p=4891"},"modified":"2023-08-11T11:47:29","modified_gmt":"2023-08-11T09:47:29","slug":"work-permit-in-the-netherlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bmwvoorelkaar.nl\/en\/expats\/work-permit-in-the-netherlands\/","title":{"rendered":"Work Permit in the Netherlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Citizens from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland are often required to obtain a permit if wishing to work in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>There are two types of permits: Work Permit \u2013 TWV (tewerkstellingsvergunning) and Combined Residence and Work Permit \u2013 GVVA (gecombineerde vergunning voor verblijf en arbeid).<\/p>\n<h3>GVVA<\/h3>\n<p>You must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwv.nl\/werkgevers\/werkvergunning\/?friendlyurl=\/werkgevers\/wervingsadvies\/werkvergunning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apply for a GVVA<\/a> if you are not an EEA or Switzerland citizen and you want to work in the Netherlands for more than 3 months.<\/p>\n<h3>TWV<\/h3>\n<p>For some non-EEA\/ non-Switzerland citizens, their employer must still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwv.nl\/werkgevers\/werkvergunning\/?friendlyurl=\/werkgevers\/wervingsadvies\/werkvergunning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apply for a TWV to the UWV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Highly skilled migrant permit in the Netherlands<\/h3>\n<p>The Dutch governments makes it easier for employers to bring and retain highly skilled foreign nationals.
